Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, Z Flip 8 October 2026 security update goes global
A couple of days ago, Samsung released software updates for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 that offered the October 2026 security patch. These were the brandâs first set of devices to get it, and the company offered the latest security patch to these devices even before detailing it. However, the tech giant had made it available only in its home country, South Korea. Thatâs changing now.
Samsung has started rolling out software updates for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 that offer the October 2026 security patch to more countries, with Europe and India being among the first to get it. The update for the flagship book-style foldable is 537.17MB in size and carries firmware version F9763XXS3AZIJ. The update for the other two phones should also be similar in size and have a firmware version ending with AZIJ.

The October 2026 security patch fixes a total of 62 security issues. You can read more about it here. To get it on your Galaxy Z Fold 8 series device or the Galaxy Z Flip 8, go to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.
While the three Galaxy phones are expected to get Samsungâs next custom Android interface, One UI 9.5, thereâs no information at the moment on when the brand will open its beta program or release the stable version.
