Another pair of Samsung earbuds just leaked, and these look nothing like its usual Buds

Samsung’s audio lineup could be about to get a lot more crowded. Just hours after we learned about the Galaxy Buds On, Samsung’s rumored first clip-on earbuds, another very different pair of earbuds has now surfaced. According to SammyGuru, references found inside an APK point to a new pair of Samsung earbuds currently codenamed the Galaxy T1, with the model number SM-R545. Unlike the Galaxy Buds On, these appear to be built specifically for workouts and sports.

The biggest giveaway is the design. The Galaxy T1 uses a full ear hook that wraps around the outside of your ear. If you’ve ever had an earbud slowly work itself loose halfway through a run, or worse, watched one hit the gym floor during a workout, you can probably see the appeal immediately. An ear-hook design should make the T1 much harder to shake loose while you’re moving.

Samsung also seems to give you plenty of control directly from the earbuds. The software includes customizable touch-and-hold gestures for each side. By default, holding the left earbud lowers the volume, while doing the same on the right raises it. You can also reassign those gestures. Options found in the software include rejecting calls, switching between noise-control modes, and launching either Gemini or Bixby.

Things get a little less clear when it comes to audio quality. SammyGuru found Samsung’s advanced audio-quality menu for the T1, but that doesn’t necessarily mean every premium Galaxy Buds feature will make the cut. There’s currently no confirmation of Samsung Seamless Codec UHQ, 24-bit/96kHz playback, lossless audio, or any other specific high-resolution format. So, the menu is encouraging, but I wouldn’t read too much into it just yet.

The leak also points to a 63mAh battery inside each earbud and a 595mAh battery in the charging case. Those figures could still change before launch, though, and without estimated listening times, they don’t tell us much about how long the T1 will actually last between charges.

What’s more interesting to me is the bigger picture. In a very short span, we’ve now heard about the Galaxy H1 over-ear headphones, the clip-on Galaxy Buds On, and these fitness-focused Galaxy T1 earbuds. Samsung suddenly seems interested in expanding beyond its familiar Galaxy Buds lineup and building audio wearables for very different kinds of listeners.

None of these names or products is guaranteed to reach stores in its current form. Still, if Samsung really is preparing dedicated options for open-ear listening, workouts, and over-ear audio, its Galaxy audio family could soon become a lot more interesting.
