Galaxy S26 FE features Super Steady video recording with Horizontal Lock
Samsung has just launched its newest Galaxy S Fan Edition smartphone, the Galaxy S26 FE. It succeeds the Galaxy S25 FE and brings several hardware and software upgrades over its predecessor. One of them is Super Steady video recording with Horizontal Lock.
The Horizontal Lock feature was introduced with the Galaxy S26 Ultra earlier this year. It works with the rear-facing primary camera. You need to enable it before starting a recording. Once you enable it and start the recording, it keeps the horizon level throughout the video, even if you rotate the phone.
In other words, no matter how much you rotate the phone while recording, the video will have the same orientation. This makes Horizontal Lock particularly useful for recording action and adventure activities, where the phone may move or rotate frequently.
You can enable Horizontal Lock by opening the Camera app, switching to the Video mode, and tapping the Super Steady icon (the running person-shaped icon). Then, tap the icon showing a running person with a diagonal slash through it to enable Horizontal Lock.
