Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Flip 8 price hikes loom amid rising component costs

With the chipset and memory chip prices rising sharply, smartphone brands, including Samsung, are increasing the prices of their models around the globe. Now, a new report about the tech giant’s upcoming phones with foldable displays, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Flip 8, suggests that the skyrocketing component prices may force the company to launch them at a higher price than their predecessors.

According to a new report from Newspim, due to increasing SoC and memory chip prices, it will be difficult for Samsung to avoid the pressure to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 at increased prices. The publication claims that while the brand may offer the base storage variant for the same price, it may price the 512GB and 1TB storage versions higher than those of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Earlier today, a leak about the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide revealed that their displays may not feature Privacy Display and S Pen support. The crease on their foldable display may also not be significantly less visible than that on the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Another leak about the two devices has shed light on their specifications. You can read more about it here. Samsung is expected to launch Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 at the next Galaxy Unpacked event around July 22, 2026.
