Galaxy S24 gets first security update following One UI 8.0
Samsung has started rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy S24 series. It’s the first update for the 2024 flagship lineup following the release of One UI 8.0 and includes the October 2025 security patch. The rollout has begun in South Korea and should expand to other regions in the coming days.
Interestingly, Samsung recently pulled the One UI 8.0 firmware for the Galaxy S24 series from its servers, suggesting that the rollout had been temporarily halted. However, that likely didn’t have much impact, as most users had probably already upgraded to One UI 8. This could explain why Samsung is now releasing a routine security update for the Galaxy S24 lineup.
The update doesn’t bring any new features or improvements beyond security enhancements. The October 2025 patch addresses 14 high-severity vulnerabilities in the Android OS and 12 Samsung-specific security issues.
As mentioned above, the update is currently rolling out only in South Korea, but it shouldn’t take long to reach other markets. Once it becomes available in your region, your Galaxy S24 will notify you automatically. You can also try checking manually by heading to the Settings > Software update menu and hitting the Download and install button.
