The OLED MacBook Pro may not be much thinner than the current model

Apple’s long-rumored OLED MacBook Pro, which will be its first laptop with a touchscreen, may not end up being much thinner than the current model, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. He has thus contradicted his own previous predictions, now saying that he doesn’t think « it’ll be significantly thinner in the end ».

For reference, the current MacBook Pro 14″ is 15.5mm thick and weighs between 1.55kg and 1.62kg, while the 16-inch model is 16.8mm thick and weighs between 2.14kg and 2.15kg. So there’s definitely a lot of room to make the new ones lighter, and perhaps slightly thinner…
