Snap’s Specs AR glasses are now on pre-order, Verizon is offering data plans for them

Snap, formerly known as Snapchat, spun off Specs, the division responsible for its augmented reality (AR) glasses, early this year, and now it’s ready to take pre-orders for the upcoming product, which is also called Specs, just to be confusing.

These are $2,195 standalone AR glasses that don’t require a phone or computer connection to work. They have a see-through transparent display with a 51-degree field of view which apparently looks as big as a 115″ screen would when viewed from about 10 feet away, a camera indicator light, « dual Snapdragon processors », and a magnetic 5-pin charging…
