New Galaxy Tab A9+ update brings August 2026 security patch

Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy Tab A9+ in its home country, South Korea. It has firmware version X210XXUDEZGF and brings three changes (via Samsung Community). First, it offers the August 2026 security patch, which fixes 56 security issues. 

Second, the brand says that it applies “stabilization code” for “termination operation.” Third, after installing this update, people won’t be able to downgrade to a firmware with “lower security”. We assume that by “lower security,” the brand means previous security patches.

The company should release the update in other countries over the next few days. You can check if the tech giant has made it available in your region by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab A9+ with One UI 5.1 (Android 13) in October 2023 and has offered it three major software updates so far. With that, the tablet is now running on One UI 8.0 (Android 16). 

Considering that the brand didn’t offer it One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2), it is safe to assume that it has stopped offering major updates for the tablet. That means it won’t get One UI 9.0 (Android 17) either. It is, however, on a quarterly security update schedule currently, which means that the tablet will get one security update every quarter or every three months.
