Samsung updates Galaxy A55, Galaxy A56 with September 2026 security patch
It has been more than a week since Samsung detailed the September 2026 security patch, but the brand has released it to very few days, mainly new and high-end models. Surprisingly, while many premium Galaxy phones are awaiting the latest security update, the company has started rolling it out to two mid-range models, the Galaxy A55 and the Galaxy A56.
So far, the South Korean tech giant seems to have released the updates only in its home country. South Korea. The one for the 2024 model carries firmware version A556SKSSBDZI1 and that for the 2025 model carries firmware version A566SKSSACZI1 (via Mohammed Khatri). The September 2026 security patch fixes 90 security issues present in the previous firmware.
We expect Samsung to release the latest Galaxy A55 and the Galaxy A56 software updates in the remaining countries over the next few days. You can check for their availability and get them by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.
It is worth pointing out that Samsung has opened the One UI 9.0 (Android 17) beta program for both phones. It allows you to try the new software before the brand releases its stable version. You can check out the changes it brings in our video below.
