Here’s the clearest look yet at the Galaxy SmartTag 3

A couple of months ago, we exclusively revealed the basic design and layout of Samsung’s next-generation object tracker, the Galaxy SmartTag 3. Now, press renders of the upcoming device have leaked, confirming it will be available in two colors.

High-resolution images published by WinFuture show a squircle design, marking a big change from the Galaxy SmartTag 2’s pill-shaped design. Most of the front has a silver finish with a prominent Samsung logo. On the back, the tracker has mandatory regulatory and certification markings alongside a pinhole to swap out the coin-shaped cell battery.

Unlike its predecessor, Samsung has dropped the built-in cutout for keyrings, carabiners, and straps. Instead, the company appears to have designed an external case with an integrated carabiner clip, adopting an approach similar to Apple’s AirTag.

The South Korean tech giant will reportedly offer bumper, leather, and silicone cases for the Galaxy SmartTag 3. In collaboration with third-party accessory makers like Spigen, Samsung also seems to be prepping a case for mounting it to a pet collar.
