Massive Galaxy A18 leak reveals complete specs and pricing

Samsung is working on two entry-level phones, the Galaxy A08 and the Galaxy A18, for a launch next month. While some information about the Galaxy A18 4G had already surfaced, newly leaked images and detailed specifications reveal that the device is slightly thicker and heavier than its predecessor.

Galaxy A18 4G design and specifications

The Galaxy A18 4G retains the same overall design as the Galaxy A17 4G, featuring a V-shaped notch at the top of the screen and a triple-camera setup on the rear. The 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display boasts Full HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

The bottom bezel is still fairly chunky, with no apparent improvements made to slim it down.

The rear camera system includes a 50MP main sensor, a 5MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. While front camera details have not been officially revealed, the phone will likely use the same 13MP selfie shooter found on the Galaxy A17 4G. Video recording will likely max out at Full HD resolution at 30fps across the board.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A18 4G is equipped with the same MediaTek Helio G99 chip found in the Galaxy A17 4G. It features 4GB of RAM alongside 128GB or 256GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 2TB via a microSD card slot.

Samsung will launch the phone running Android 17 (One UI 9.0). It could offer an impressive six generations of Android OS upgrades and up to six years of security patches.

Connectivity options include 4G, GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB 2.0 Type-C port.

The device packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging. Samsung also appears to have upgraded the phone’s durability to an IP64 rating, a step up from the IP54 rating of the Galaxy A17 4G.

The handset measures 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.7mm and weighs 193g, confirming the slight increase in thickness and weight.

Galaxy A18 4G will be €100 more expensive

According to the report, Samsung will launch the Galaxy A18 4G with a starting price of €299. If true, this makes it €100 more expensive than the Galaxy A17 4G.

A 5G version of the phone is also in the works and is expected to arrive a few weeks after the 4G model.
