EarFun just gave us a reason to watch its next earbuds closely

IFA 2026 has already given us plenty of new audio gear, but EarFun may have just teased one of the more interesting pairs of wireless earbuds at the show. The company has given us our first look at the upcoming Air Pro 5, its next flagship true wireless earbuds. We don’t have all the details or even the price yet, but one detail immediately caught our attention: EarFun worked with engineers from Bose Corporation’s Audio Technology business on the earbuds’ active noise cancelation.

Bose, of course, has built much of its reputation around excellent noise cancelation, so that’s a pretty interesting name to have involved with a pair of EarFun earbuds. According to EarFun, Bose engineers provided acoustic engineering services, including ANC modeling, tuning, and validation, for the Air Pro 5.

Bose’s involvement makes the Air Pro 5’s ANC particularly interesting for everyday situations, whether that’s reducing the hum of an airplane cabin, the noise of a metro commute, or the chatter in a busy coffee shop.

EarFun says the Air Pro 5 will also offer a refined sound signature, balanced frequency response, adaptive processing, and improved connectivity. Those descriptions don’t tell us much without actually listening to the earbuds, but combined with the Bose involvement, there’s enough here to make the Air Pro 5 worth keeping an eye on.

Unfortunately, that’s about all EarFun is revealing for now. Details such as battery life, codecs, driver configuration, pricing, and availability are still under wraps, and the company has promised to share more information later.

EarFun does have something you can buy right now, though. The new Wave Pro X is the company’s latest flagship pair of over-ear wireless headphones, and there is a lot going on inside them.

Instead of relying on a single driver in each earcup, the Wave Pro X uses two independent dynamic drivers in a coaxial arrangement. EarFun calls the setup its DCAA Acoustic Architecture and says it is designed to produce deeper bass, clearer highs, and a wider soundstage. The headphones also support a wired 3.5mm connection, which is handy if you want to plug them directly into a laptop, handheld console, or another device rather than relying on Bluetooth.

An eight-microphone system handles noise cancelation with real-time processing that adjusts ANC based on your surroundings. Multipoint Bluetooth is also supported, so you could, for example, keep the headphones connected to your laptop for a meeting while also pairing them with your phone for incoming calls.

Battery life is another highlight. EarFun claims up to 90 hours of listening with ANC disabled or 50 hours with it switched on. A 15-minute charge is also said to provide another 10 hours of playback, which should be enough to rescue you if you realize your headphones are dead just before leaving home.

The Wave Pro X folds down for easier travel and uses memory-foam earcups. The EarFun Wave Pro X is available now for $130 through EarFun’s official website and Amazon.
