Samsung may not bring any improvement to the Galaxy S27’s charging speed

While the Galaxy S26 Ultra received a charging speed upgrade, the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ did not. Samsung has been using the same charging speeds for its base and Plus Galaxy S models for the past four years, and that trend appears poised to continue next year with the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+.

Two models from the Galaxy S27 series, the Galaxy S27 (SM-S9520) and the Galaxy S27+ (SM-S9560), recently appeared (via @ZionsAnvin) in China’s China Compulsory Certificate (CCC) database, revealing their wired charging speeds. The base Galaxy S27 seems to support up to 25W (9V 2.77A) fast wired charging, while the Galaxy S27+ tops out at 45W (15V 3A).

As has been the case with most Samsung phones over the past few years, both devices will be sold without a bundled charger.

Fans hoping for higher battery capacities and faster charging speeds will likely be disappointed. It appears Samsung is sticking to the exact same wired charging specifications seen on the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+. Their wireless charging speeds are also expected to remain unchanged from their predecessors.

Additionally, rumors suggest the Galaxy S27 Pro could feature a 5,200mAh battery, while the top-tier Galaxy S27 Ultra may be powered by a massive 5,800mAh cell. They could feature 60W fast wired charging.
