Galaxy S26 Ultra was the world’s best-selling Android phone in Q2 2026

Counterpoint Research has published a report on the best-selling smartphones globally in Q2 2026. According to it, Samsung’s latest flagship non-foldable smartphone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, was the best-selling Android smartphone during the quarter.

However, the Galaxy S26 Ultra wasn’t the best-selling phone overall. That title went to Apple’s iPhone 17, followed by the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro. Samsung’s flagship non-foldable smartphone came in fourth place, as you can see in the image below.

Samsung nevertheless had a strong showing in the global top 10. Five of the best-selling smartphones during the quarter were from the company. Besides the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the list included the Galaxy A07, Galaxy A17 5G, Galaxy A17 4G, and Galaxy S26, which ranked fifth, sixth, eighth, and ninth, respectively.

Counterpoint Research says the Galaxy S26 Ultra outsold its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, during the same period and accounted for more than half of the total sales of the Galaxy S26 series.

As for the Galaxy A series, the research firm says the lineup remained popular due to its affordability, availability, and strong value proposition. It also points out that all the Galaxy A series smartphones featured in the top 10 offer six years or more of software updates.
