A brief look at how fashion color trends could influence Samsung’s 2027 phone lineup
It’s Friday, and the Galaxy S26 FE launch is wrapped. Let’s do something different for a change and talk a little about fashion color trends and how they could influence Samsung’s Galaxy phone lineup in 2027.
The following isn’t confirmed or rumored. It is an observation of current color trends in fashion and elsewhere, and a look at what they could mean for Samsung’s phones next year.
If you’ve noticed a rise in the popularity of the color teal this year, you’re not alone. Many fashion brands leaned heavily into this color, and Transformative Teal was named the 2026 Color of the Year by trend forecasting firm WGSN using the Coloro system.
Interestingly, Samsung seemingly took notice of this trend with some of its 2026 phone releases. Granted, none of the latest Galaxy models are actually Transformative Teal, but the minty pistachio shade Samsung chose for newer phones like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy S26 FE seems to align with the 2026 color trend.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra’ Green Shadow is also a worthy mention. It’s not quite Transformative Teal, but it seemingly fits within the broader green-and-blue color direction we’ve seen in 2026.

The same goes for a number of low-cost F-series phones and the Galaxy A37 in Awesome Graygreen, which you can see in the featured image atop this article.
What’s the 2027 color, and how could it influence Samsung?
WGSN has already named the 2027 color, and it is Luminous Blue (Coloro code: 125â28â38).
Incidentally, it looks a lot like Samsung’s Royal Blue.

Whether or not Samsung will follow these color trends next year is anyone’s guess. Samsung has its own design language, product strategy, and color planning.
However, seeing how the company did lean at least a bit into the teal trend this year, it wouldn’t be a complete surprise if Samsung’s Royal Blue or derivatives made a bit of a comeback in 2027.
Perhaps not for the upcoming S27 series — which should be announced very early in 2027 — but maybe for devices planned for release in the second half of 2027: Foldables and a new FE or even Galaxy A/F phones.
One reason Samsung might not follow 2027’s color trend and avoid blue is that the Galaxy Z Fold 7, released last year, already had Blue Shadow as its signature color. Samsung may simply want to avoid using it again so soon. But we’ll see.
It is worth noting that, although Luminous Blue is the 2027 color named by WGSN, the firm also chose a few other key colors expected to gain traction in fashion next year, specifically in the spring/summer 2027 season. Those colors are: Energy Orange, Pop Pink, Meadowland Green, and Clay.
