Samsung’s first clip-on earbuds might not arrive until later this year

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro go back to what made the line distinct from other earbuds in the first place.

For the first time, Samsung will be releasing clip-on open-ear earphones, potentially called the “Galaxy Buds Able.” The first evidence of this audio product was spotted by Android Authority, hiding in code within the Galaxy Buds app. As Samsung has a launch event coming up very soon, it was believed the earbuds might make their debut at the show. However, a new report gives a new launch window to expect.

Samsung’s first clip-on earbuds will not be at Galaxy Unpacked tomorrow, according to Korea’s Electronic Times. Instead, it’s reported that Samsung is aiming for a launch early in the fourth quarter of the year. It appears that late September or October are the most probable dates.

The report also mentions that Samsung is leaning toward giving the new form factor a separate launch. This decision comes after the company reportedly delayed the unveiling schedule. It’s said that the delay was due to the brand reevaluating the product’s quality and launch timing.

At the moment, it’s unclear what Samsung’s new earbuds will be called when they launch. The references found so far refer to them as the Galaxy Buds Able, but that could just be a placeholder name. However, a leaker alleges that the audio product’s official name will be the “Galaxy Buds On.”
