Here’s what the new Galaxy A54 software update brings
The variant of the Galaxy A54 that Samsung sells in its home country, South Korea, which has the number SM-A546S and is known as the Galaxy Quantum 4 locally, is now getting a new software update. It brings the June 2026 security patch, which fixes 45 security issues present in the previous version of the operating system, making the phone more secure than before.
The update has firmware version A546SKSSHFZF2 (via Mohammed Khatri). Going by Samsung’s software update rollout history for Galaxy devices, we expect the brand to release the June 2026 security patch for other variants of the Galaxy A54 and in other countries gradually over the next few days. You can get it by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.
The previous update for the Galaxy A54 brought with it One UI 8.5, Samsung’s new Android skin for Galaxy smartphones and tablets. It offered a redesigned user interface with transparent blur effect and floating design for bottom bars in first-party apps, as well as new features, including Apple AirDrop support, partial screen recording, direct voicemail, and much more. However, it may be the last major update for the phone.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A54 with One UI 5.1 (Android 13) and promised to offer it four major OS upgrades. By rolling out One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2), the brand fulfilled that promise. It means that the phone may not get the company’s latest Android customisation, One UI 9.0 (Android 17), which offers even more features. If that’s making you think of upgrading to a new phone, you should consider the Galaxy A57.
