Take a look at what’s new for the Galaxy S24 Ultra on One UI 8.5

Samsung recently begun rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, among lots of other eligible devices.

Our colleagues over at SamMobile TV have posted a new video today highlighting what’s new for the Galaxy S24 Ultra once it’s upgraded to Samsung’s latest firmware release.

The great news is that all of the headline stuff about One UI 8.5 has made it to the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It’s normal for some features to not trickle down to older flagships, but the Galaxy S24 Ultra is largely spared that outcome.

The most obvious new feature is the highly customizable quick panel. Just tap on the edit option and you can customize the size of things, placement of things, and even remove toggles you don’t want to use.

The Gallery app now has a floating menu bar at the bottom with a nice blur effect. Samsung has redesigned everything to give the app a more appealing aesthetic, even though functionally everything is quite the same.

Not a great deal of changes have been made to the camera on the Galaxy S24 Ultra with One UI 8.5. Some of the new features missing for this device include the 24-megapixel support, and it hasn’t received the horizontal lock feature as well. APV codec is missing as well, which is not surprising at all, since this is a chipset limitation of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
