Galaxy S23’s stable One UI 8.5 update is now live in the US
Samsung, after offering the stable version of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra in its home country, South Korea, followed by a global release, has now started rolling it out in the United States. At the moment, the brand seems to be offering it to the carrier-locked versions of the phones.
The update is 4,169.08MB in size and has firmware version S91xUSQU7FZE2 (via Tarun Vats). To get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. It may also be rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update to the factory-unlocked versions of the Galaxy S23, but we don’t have a confirmation about it yet.
If you have been following news about One UI 8.5, you may know that it brings minor visual changes, a more customisable user interface (read Quick Settings panel), and plenty of additional features, including support for Appe AirDrop. You can check out the complete changelog here.
On a related note, Samsung has also announced One UI 9.0 (Android 17) and released its beta version for the Galaxy S26 series. The Galaxy S23 lineup is eligible to get it. However, there’s no information about when it may arrive for the brand’s 2023 flagship non-foldable phones.
