New Galaxy Z Fold 8 series leak reveals important display details
Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone with a book-style foldable display, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, featured a foldable display where the crease was significantly less visible than that on the previous model. Considering that and the competition in this space from China, the brand’s next devices in the lineup, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, were expected to bring big improvements in the foldable display crease aspect.
Usually, a new Galaxy Z Fold series device also packs the most noteworthy features from the latest Galaxy S series phone. Keeping that in mind, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series was expected to feature Privacy Display from the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Apart from that, reports about their displays also claimed that they may support the S Pen. However, we may neither see significant crease improvements nor Privacy Display and S Pen support with them.
On X, a popular tipster, Ice Universe, claims that the crease on the foldable displays of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series may not be significantly improved (less visible) than that on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. He also says that these screens will neither support S Pen nor feature Privacy Display, as some previous reports claimed.
That’s a bummer for people looking forward to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. While we understand that offering significant improvements in crease visibility with every new display may not be possible, we were expecting the cover displays of these phones to feature Privacy Display, a feature that everyone absolutely loved.
