Samsung updates Galaxy M16 with April 2026 security patch

The international variant of the Galaxy M16 in India is getting a new update. It brings the April 2026 security patch, which fixes 47 security issues present in the previous version of the OS, making the phone more secure than before.

The update that brings it is 304.61MB in size and carries firmware version M166PXXS5CZD2 (via Sarthak Pathare). You can get it by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

We assume that Samsung is rolling out the April 2026 security patch to the Galaxy M16 units in other countries as we speak, and we expect to release it in the remaining regions in the next few days.

Speaking of updates for the Galaxy M16, the device is eligible to get Samsung’s new Android customisation for its smartphones, One UI 8.5. It is based on Android 16 QPR2 and brings a new user interface and new features. You can check them out below.
