
Galaxy Z Fold 7 faces competition in the US from Motorola
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is facing increased competition in the US. After the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Samsungâs flagship foldable will now compete with Motorolaâs first book-style foldable phone, the RAZR Fold. It was first unveiled at CES 2026 earlier this year, and its pricing has now been revealed.

The RAZR Fold will be available for pre-order in the US starting May 14 for $1,899.99. It will go on sale starting May 21 in Blackened Blue and Lily White colors.

RAZR Fold features and specifications

The Motorola RAZR Fold features a 6.6-inch LTPO OLED cover display with Full HD+ resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of up to 6,000 nits, and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protection.
Its foldable LTPO OLED screen measures 8.1 inches diagonally, with a resolution of 2,232 x 2,484 pixels and peak brightness of up to 6,200 nits. Both displays support Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and stylus input. Stylus support is something that is missing in the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The phone is 9.89mm thick when folded and 4.7mm when unfolded. It has an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and comes with 12GB or 16GB of RAM, depending on the variant. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The device is backed by a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and supports 80W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging.
The RAZR Fold runs Android 16 out of the box and will receive Android OS updates for up to seven years. It features Gemini and Perplexity integration, making it comparable to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in terms of AI capabilities.

In terms of cameras, the RAZR Fold includes a 50MP primary rear camera with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. It has a 20MP front-facing camera on the cover display and a 32MP front-facing camera on the foldable display. All cameras support up to 4K 120fps video recording, while the rear cameras can also record up to 8K 30fps video.
The phone features stereo speakers tuned by Bose. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
Overall, the RAZR Fold offers a better zoom camera, a significantly larger battery, stylus support, and much faster charging compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It remains to be seen how the Z Fold 7 will perform in terms of sales against Motorolaâs new foldable phone.
