Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide dimensions, aspect ratios of displays leak
According to multiple reports, Samsung is developing three new foldable smartphones: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and another device with a book-style foldable display wider than that of previous Galaxy Z Fold models. This device is expected to arrive as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide or Galaxy Z Fold Wide. Now, a new leak about the phone has revealed details about its dimensions and aspect ratios of its two displays.
On X, a popular tipster, Ice Universe, has shared the alleged dimensions of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide. Reportedly, the device will be 123.9mm tall, 161.4mm wide when opened, 82.2mm wide when closed, 4.3mm thick when unfolded, and 9.8mm thick when folded. The tipster claims that the cover display will have a 4.7:3 aspect ratio, while the inner foldable display will feature a 4:3 aspect ratio, just like a previous report claimed.
In comparison, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is said to measure 158.4 x 143.2 x 4.5mm when unfolded and 158.4 x 72.8 x 9mm when folded. While there is no information yet about the aspect ratios of its displays, the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s inner foldable display has a 3.33:3 aspect ratio.
As these dimensions suggest, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide will be noticeably shorter and wider than both the standard model and its predecessor, resulting in a much wider display aspect ratio. Details about other aspects of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide are still unknown.
