Galaxy S25 Ultra camera has a blur issue and a fix is coming soon

Samsung’s Galaxy S Ultra phones generally offer really good camera performance. However, software and app updates can sometimes introduce issues that affect camera behavior. A similar problem has now been reported on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, where the phone may capture blurry images in certain situations. Samsung has acknowledged the issue and confirmed that a fix is on the way.

A Galaxy S25 Ultra user recently reported on the Samsung Community forum that images captured using the Virtual Aperture feature in the Expert RAW app appear blurry at the 5x zoom level. Subject separation and background blur do not seem to work as intended. Samsung’s forum moderators responded, confirming that the company was able to reproduce the issue and that a fix will be released soon.

Virtual Aperture is a feature in Samsung’s Expert RAW app that allows users to adjust background or foreground blur based on their preferences. It first debuted with the Galaxy S25 Ultra and was later improved with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The improved version recently arrived on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Samsung is reportedly planning to fix the issue with the stable One UI 8.5 update, which could roll out to the Galaxy S25 series later this month or early next month. However, the release timeline may vary by region.
