Beats has teamed up with Nike to launch a special-edition version of its popular Powerbeats Pro 2 earbuds. These feature a bold green-and-black paint-splatter aesthetic and sport each brand’s logo on the left and right earbuds. The Nike Powerbeats Pro 2 go on sale on Nike.com, Apple.com, and other stores on March 20 for $249.99.

Under the hood, the buds integrate seamlessly with the Nike Run Club app. This is available on Android and iOS and helps to track your pace, location, distance, elevation, heart rate, and mile splits. You can also share your running data or create challenges with your friends, and use Guided Runs to meet your goals. There’s even a Nike Running Coach for audio-guided runs and trophies to gamify your exercises.

The charging case features a black-and-green paint splatter design.

However, aside from the color and this integration, the special-edition version is identical to the original Powerbeats Pro 2. You’ll receive a comfortable hooked design, an IPX4 water-resistant rating, and a built-in heart-rate monitor. Battery life lasts up to 10 hours per charge, and the buds can be topped up via a Qi wireless pad. Noise cancellation remains stellar, reducing most external sounds by an average of 83%. The default sound quality is also ideal for workouts, and the buds feature an integrated microphone for taking calls.

Apple’s powerful H2 chip is behind many of these best features. However, unlike most Apple products, the Powerbeats Pro 2 feature the Android-friendly Beats app. This delivers control customizations, noise cancellation modes, heart-rate monitoring, and an Ear Tip Fit Test. Of course, automatic iCloud device switching is reserved for Apple users.
