- Skullcandy has just announced its Push 540 Open earbuds.
- These feature a detachable neckband, 10 hours of battery life, and an IP44-rated hooked design.
- The earbuds are available now for $99.99 from the company’s website and trusted retailers.
Skullcandy has just expanded its line of open-ear fitness buds with the Push 540 Open. These feature an IP44-rated exterior that’s ideal for withstanding sweaty workouts and dust. They also continue the hooked design of their predecessors and now include a detachable neckband for additional stability. The buds rest horizontally inside a large flat-oval charging case and ship in True Black or Bone white colorways. They also support touch controls on each earbud for media, calls, and enabling voice assistants. Handily, the neckband can be stored in the charging case and used as a carry cable.
Under the hood are 12mm dynamic drivers with a frequency response of 20Hz – 20KHz. However, as with all open-ear buds, the Push 540 Open will struggle to reproduce ample bass. It is also worth noting that, due to their design, the Push 540 Open do not support active noise cancellation. Nevertheless, the buds last up to 10 hours per charge cycle, with an additional 32 hours from the charging case. You can also fast-charge the buds for 10 minutes to receive two hours of listening time.
The Skullcandy Push 540 Open support a string of handy features, including Auto Connect, Google Fast Pair, and Find My. They also feature Bluetooth 5.3 with LE Audio, low-latency playback, and Multipoint connectivity. Downloading the Skullcandy App unlocks control customizations, EQ presets, and the ability to disable touch gestures. The buds house directional microphones for taking calls and use the company’s AI-driven Clear Voice Smart Mic feature. This reduces in-call background noise while prioritizing voices.
Skullcandy’s latest Push 540 Open are available now for $99.99 on the company’s website and from trusted retailers. This matches Skullcandy’s prior open-ear releases, including the Push ANC Active and Push Play Active.
