These open-ear buds are ideal for gym-goers, thanks to their unoccluded fit, stabilizing earhook design, and IP54-rated exterior. The last protects against omnidirectional water splashes and small solid particles. Shokz claims that the buds last six hours per charge, and up to 28 hours with the charging case. You can also top up the buds for 10 minutes to receive two hours of listening time.

Under the hood are 18 x 11mm dynamic drivers with Shokz’s DirectPitch feature to optimize sound pressure within the ear and reduce audio leakage. The buds support customizable touch controls, which can be edited to your liking within the Shokz app. This is also where you’ll find four EQ presets and a Custom EQ mode, and it’s vital for installing firmware updates.
The earbuds connect via Bluetooth 5.2, supporting the SBC and AAC codecs. There’s an ENC 4-mic array for taking calls, and Shokz claims the buds reduce in-call background noise by 96.5%. The Shokz OpenBass Air feature also reportedly delivers low-frequency enhancement, although we haven’t had the opportunity to test this yet.
