Samsung Health’s upcoming update will bring an important change

Samsung has issued a notice in the Samsung Health app for Android. It notifies users that in July 2026, the brand will release an update to the app, which, among other things, will change the conditions for determining their country.

Currently, Samsung Health determines a user’s country based on “country information assigned to the device at the time of purchase.” With the planned update, it will determine the country based on “the country information in Samsung account.”

The brand says that if a user’s country changes, they may lose or gain features. For example, if you import a Galaxy smartphone from the US, where Samsung Health offers features like ECG, to your country where those features aren’t available, you may still be able to use those features, as the app determines your country as the US.

After the update, Samsung Health will check your Samsung account country and use that information. If it is a country where ECG isn’t available, the app will no longer let you access those features. Fortunately, you can manually set the country for the app. To do that, you will have to update your country in your Samsung account.
