New Galaxy Tab A9+ update brings January 2026 security patch

Earlier this week, Samsung released a software update to one of its entry-level tablets from 2023, the Galaxy Tab A9, which brought the January 2026 security patch, fixing 55 security issues. Well, the brand is now offering the latest security updates to its larger variant, the Galaxy Tab A9+.

Currently, Samsung is rolling it out to the variant of the tablet that it sells in South Korea, its home country, which has the model numbers SM-X210 (non-cellular) and SM-X216N (cellular). The update carries firmware version X210XXSAEZA1 and X216NKOSAEZA1 (via Samsung Community).

We expect Samsung to release the latest Galaxy Tab A9+ update in other countries in the next few days. To check if the brand has made it available in your region, as well as to get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

On a related note, the Galaxy Tab A9+ will soon get a major software update, which will bring One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2). It will offer a new user interface that is cleaner, more modern-looking, and more customisable, as well as many new features. You can take a look at them in our video below. Samsung is said to release it after launching the Galaxy S26.
