Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro leaks reveal price, design changes, and powerful new features
- Recently discovered animations confirm that the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro have a new design and updated features.
- The earbuds appear to have a flatter stem and will support “Head Gestures”.
- New leaks indicate that the Buds4 Pro will retail for $249.99 on February 25, 2026.
Our sister site, Android Authority, has uncovered new One UI 8.5 animations that show the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro and their updated features in detail. This follows months of speculation after traces of the buds were found in leaked One UI 8.5 firmware. The earbuds are widely expected to launch alongside the Galaxy S26 series on February 25, 2026.
Details of the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro’s design

Many listeners have taken issue with the Galaxy Buds3 Pro’s sharp, triangular form factor. While Samsung appears not to be ditching stems altogether, the new animations suggest that the Galaxy Buds4 Pro (and likely by extension, the Buds4) will adorn a flatter stemmed design. This follows a report by Android Authority in October that revealed a vector-based render of a more rounded earbud stem. Another report highlighted that the Buds4 Pro and Buds4 have the codenames “Bach” and “Handel”, respectively.
The new animations show that the Galaxy Buds4 Pro may forgo the distinctive blade lights of their predecessor. While limited, these are handy for confirming the earbuds’ status. For example, you can check when the charging case is open, you’re pairing to a Galaxy device, or searching for your buds. However, despite this change, the Galaxy Buds4 Pro should continue to support pinch and swipe controls for play/pause, volume adjustments, and more.
Trusted leaker Billbil-kun of Dealabs Magazine reports that the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro will launch in France in Black and White. There may be an Apricot colorway, but this may only be available from Samsung’s store or in specific markets.
The Buds4 Pro’s in-ear tips may be angled slightly differently from their predecessor. Similarly, it appears that, unlike the Buds3 Pro, Samsung’s upcoming buds will lie flat inside the charging case. This differs from Samsung’s usual, vertical-dropping system, and more closely aligns with other premium earbud brands.
There has been confirmation regarding whether the more pedestrian Samsung Galaxy Buds4 will follow the same redesign. However, given the precedent of previous iterations, it is reasonable to expect that the earbuds will follow the same design language as the Buds4 Pro.
Head Gestures and other premium features

Digging deeper into code strings in the leaked One UI 8.5 build, Android Authority also found that Samsung is integrating a new “Head Gestures” feature. This works similarly to functionalities found on some Sony earbuds and the Apple AirPods Pro 3. However, unlike basic versions, the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro will be able to do more than answer and decline calls.
For example, Samsung Head Gestures will allow you to enjoy hands-free control of the earbuds when speaking or using your phone isn’t possible. You’ll now also be able to answer yes or no questions and end conversations with an AI assistant. The feature allows you to hear and respond to notifications aloud, which can be stopped in the same way. You’ll also be able to dismiss alarms, timers, Calendar alerts, and Reminder alerts.
The leaked animations reveal more features under the hood, although many of them are shared with the Galaxy Buds3 Pro. For example, the Buds4 Pro will have 360° audio recording capabilities, which is handy for creating immersive video content. Similarly, we should see Adaptive Noise Control, Find Your Phone, and seamless pairing with Galaxy smartphones.
If the leaked One UI 8.5 animations are anything to go by, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro will offer tangible benefits over their predecessor. The flatter stem design, new case layout, and Head Gesture controls will bring Samsung up to speed with immediate rivals and industry leaders.
Price and availability
Dealab’s Billbil-kun has also discovered the final European prices for the Galaxy Buds4 and Buds4 Pro. According to their findings, the Pro version will retail for €249, while the Buds4 will launch for €179. If this comes to fruition, both earbuds’ US retail price is likely to be the same as their predecessors’.
Samsung is also reportedly planning additional offers for French listeners. In particular, shoppers will be able to purchase the Black variants with a 25W wireless charging pad for no extra charge. While this has not been confirmed, the offer could be extended to other European countries.
Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro: What we’d like to see
The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro launched in 2024 and work best when paired with the newest Samsung smartphones. Doing so unlocks next-gen AI capabilities, including live translation, interpretation, and adaptive EQ functionalities. However, while Samsung is busy investing heavily in its Galaxy AI suite, it may have overlooked more fundamental and entrenched niggles.
Longer battery life
Unlike some cheaper alternatives, the Buds3 Pro last just four hours and 31 minutes with ANC enabled. Surprisingly, this falls roughly 20 minutes short of the Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Buds Pro. With such average battery life, the Buds3 Pro are ill-equipped for long-haul flights, as they need to be pocketed mid-travel. Samsung must relive the successes of its Galaxy Buds 2 and Galaxy Buds Live and bring longer battery life to the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro.
More powerful ANC
The older Galaxy Buds2 Pro are Samsung’s best earbuds for noise canceling so far. When activated, fans can expect a maximum attenuation of approximately 48dB. The buds are particularly effective at quelling bass and sub-bass frequencies between 30 – 100Hz. Higher frequencies above 3kHz are also significantly dampened, making the buds well-equipped for canceling office chatter. Unfortunately, the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro feature weaker sub-bass and treble attenuation than their predecessor. In particular, frequencies between 5 – 8kHz are substantially more noticeable. The Galaxy Buds4 Pro must feature more powerful ANC at launch.
A cheaper price tag
Earbud manufacturers often add the “Pro” moniker to their top-tier products because they usually exude flagship prices. However, Samsung has steadily increased the retail price of its Pro-series earbuds. For example, the original Galaxy Buds Pro cost $199.99, while the Galaxy Buds2 Pro cost $229.99. The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro retail for $249.99, suggesting the Galaxy Buds4 Pro could cost roughly $269.99 when they eventually materialize. This is significantly higher than the fan-favorite Sony WF-1000XM5, which can frequently be found for a discounted price of $199.99. The Galaxy Buds4 Pro will need a cheaper price tag to remain competitive.
Better in-call noise reduction
The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro have superior microphone quality than their predecessor. Unfortunately, while microphone quality is improved, the Galaxy Buds3 Pro are less well-equipped to reduce wind howl and other environmental sounds. A future firmware update could remedy this, but the Galaxy Buds4 Pro would be more compelling with better in-call noise reduction.
A more refined voice command feature
As mentioned previously, the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro use pinch and slide controls to adjust volume, play/pause, skip, and ANC/ transparency modes. You can also download the Samsung Wearable app to use voice commands. This allows you to skip tracks or adjust volume while freeing your hands to wash the dishes. However, without an activation word or directional training, the earbuds’ voice command feature can be activated by passersby. When worn in crowded places, strangers could inadvertently control your music, answer your calls, or adjust your volume. The Galaxy Buds4 Pro should refine Samsung’s voice command feature.
