Fairphone has just unveiled an upgrade to its popular 2023 Fairbuds XL headphones. While not an official successor, the Fairphone Fairbuds XL (2025) bring tangible improvements. These include better drivers and audio quality, breathable mesh fabric padding, and a new 30-minute auto-off feature. The headphones also come with a longer warranty period and are comprised of even more recycled materials than their predecessor.
Fairphone’s upgraded flagship over-ear headphones ship in two colorways: Forest Green and Horizon Black. As before, you can replace the battery, ear cups, headband, ear pads, and more with a single screwdriver.
The Fairbuds XL (2025) sport an IP54-rated exterior and a USB-C charging port. They also have a dedicated ANC button and use a small joystick to control playback and volume. The foldable hinges are ideal for smaller storage, and the upgraded fabric padding should allow for longer listening sessions without sweat buildup.
The Fairphone Fairbuds XL (2025) are available globally through the company’s online store. While currently unavailable in the US, they are expected to launch through Amazon later this month for $229.
