Samsung to stop bringing software updates to the Galaxy A52s

The Galaxy A52s has officially reached the end of its software support period. Launched in September 2021, the mid-range phone has now completed four years on the market, marking the conclusion of the update commitment Samsung had made at release.

The Galaxy A52s was one of Samsung’s most popular A-series phones, especially for its performance: it was powered by the Snapdragon 778G, the most powerful Snapdragon chip available in the mid-range segment at the time. It originally launched with Android 11 and later received major upgrades to Android 12, 13, and 14, along with several One UI version updates and regular security patches.

However, as of October 2025, Samsung has removed the A52s from its official update schedule, meaning it will no longer receive any security patches or firmware updates. Some regions may still get one final update if they missed the previous rollout, but otherwise, the Galaxy A52s has reached the end of its active software support.

This means it may be time for Galaxy A52s owners to look for a newer device, and the Galaxy A56 would be an excellent upgrade. It’s considerably more powerful, has a more premium design, improved cameras, and comes with a guarantee of six major OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
