Galaxy Ring seems to have another serious battery issue

Battery issues on Samsung devices always take people back to the disaster that was the Galaxy Note 7, but nothing has been as bad as that.

Someone found themselves in a nightmare scenario of the Galaxy Ring being stuck on their finger because the battery had swollen. Reports are now emerging of another battery issue with Samsung’s first smart ring.

Several Galaxy Ring users have complained on Samsung’s official forums and Reddit about excessive battery drain on their smart ring. The problem appears to have emerged out of nowhere as those users report easily getting through the entire week by charging the ring twice at the most.

For some, the battery drain is so excessive that the Galaxy Ring loses about 1% of charge every two minutes, effectively making the device useless. It won’t be of any use to owners if the Ring is not even able to last beyond a few hours on a single charge.

A few customers have been successful in making warranty claims and getting replacement units from Samsung, but the process has its own frustrations. It’s unclear what’s causing the issue, whether it’s just the battery dying out or if it’s a software bug that could be fixed with an update.

This doesn’t reflect all too well on Samsung’s smart ring as the company has ambitions to launch new models in the future. Hopefully, the issue will be addressed and customers’ confidence in the product restored.
