Recently, developer Bearded Ladies and publisher Funcom announced Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden. According to the companies, Mutant Year Zero is a tactical adventure featuring a story set on a “post-human” Earth. The game combines strategy and the turn-based combat of XCOM with real-time exploration and stealth gameplay. The team making Mutant Year Zero has members who previously worked on titles like Hitman and Payday.

Luckily, Mutant Year Zero is now available on Xbox One and PC. Better yet, it’s also a part of Xbox Game Pass. You can purchase it digitally right now for $34.99 on the Xbox Store or subscribe to the subscription service for $9.99 a month. If you want a Netflix-like service for games, be sure to check out Xbox Game Pass which features over a hundred titles.
Mutant Year Zero is based on the classic “Mutant” franchise that has spawned several popular pen and paper games. Extreme climate change, global economic crises, a lethal pandemic, and increasing tension between old and new superpowers causes the destruction of the planet. Nuclear war destroys the land and humans perish.

Funcom is known for unique experiences like Conan Exiles, so Mutant Year Zero seems like the right fit. Currently, it’s unclear if the game is Xbox One X Enhanced because there’s no indication on the Xbox Store.
