Yesterday at The Game Awards 2018, Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Désilets showcased his next project called “Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey.” The title is supposed to give you a glimpse into the lives of our genetic ancestors like chimpanzee-like creatures and other apes millions of years ago. What makes Ancestors unique is that it doesn’t appear to have any voice acting or other means of storytelling. The plot — which also spans millions of years — is entirely showcased through its visuals.
Are you interested in Ancestors? Let us know. While the concept it novel, it needs to have engaging and tight gameplay to succeed. A lot of titles have stellar presentations, but they fall flat because they can’t hold onto the user’s attention. Hopefully Ancestors won’t suffer the same fate.
