Ubisoft has announced its third-quarter 2019-2020 financial results, heavily leaning on the success of its back catalog, including hit tactical shooter, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Ongoing post-launch support propels the title into its upcoming Year 5 updates, now surpassing 55 million users, with continued growth in engagement and monetization.
Rainbow Six Siege was positioned among Ubisoft’s top-performing titles, hitting its latest milestone of registered players, coupled with an uptick in revenue. Earnings highlighted record-high monthly active users for any December, with increased player recurring investment, from sales of cosmetics, memberships, and other digital items. Rainbow Six Siege also saw a “new peak in daily average revenue per user,” suggesting steady growth throughout its player base as it evolves the monetization strategy.
That follows a robust previous quarter for Rainbow Six Siege, hitting 50 million players and an all-time peak in monthly active users, with the release of Operation Ember Rise. It suggests a 10 percent growth in players over the past five months. While Ubisoft refused to comment on the ongoing Road to S.I. event and Battle Pass, more details are expected next quarter.
These results come as Ubisoft prepares to enter Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 5 roadmap, scheduled for unveiling on February 16. The upcoming Six Invitational serves the first glimpse of its Year 5 Season 1 content, alongside tease of plans for later in 2020.
