The Video Game Awards was chock full of new game announcements, and one of those was for the very popular Mortal Kombat franchise. Warner Bros. Interactive and NetherRealm Studios announced that Mortal Kombat 11 will launch for Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch April 23, 2019.
Very little was said about the game, but the announcement trailer showed an intense battle between Raiden and Scorpio, two of the series’ most iconic characters. And, apparently, there will be multiple forms of Scorpio for this latest entry, or perhaps that’s one of the character’s new abilities.
Warner Bros. mentioned that the game will feature a sizable roster of Mortal Kombat fighters both new and old, with a continuation of the storyline that began way back in 2011 with the series’ modern-day reboot. We’re said to be getting more details about Mortal Kombat 11 come January 2019 in a more comprehensive reveal, so stay tuned.
