When we praised the game’s compelling combat and awesome co-op features in our review, we knew Minecraft Dungeons had a chance to be a stellar success for Mojang Studios, who were properly expanding the Minecraft franchise for the very first time. Our predictions are ringing true, with the game now topping the sales charts for both Nintendo and Xbox, according to a games analyst on Twitter and their official store pages.

On the Nintendo eShop, Minecraft Dungeons is showing as the best-seller in both the US and UK regions, and has officially topped the long-reigning champion of the Nintendo Switch, Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This is an incredible accomplishment for a fledlging franchise, and is certainly impressive. To little surprise, the game is also performing admirably on the Xbox Store, being bolstered by the supreme value it offers and its appearance in the Xbox Game Pass.
On the Xbox Store, Minecraft Dungeons shows as the best-selling game, even beating out heavy hitters like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, with the Hero Edition showing up at #5. Even more impressive, just the Hero Edition Upgrade Pass, an add-on for the game, is at #11, which is definitely a surprise.
