vivo will unveil the iQOO Neo5 on March 16 or rather that is when it will finish unveiling the phone. The company has already confirmed many of the key features, including the 120Hz display with 1,000 Hz touch sampling rate. It will be an HDR10+ certified OLED panel with a peak brightness of 1,300 nits.
A new series of video ads for the phone stars cute animals, all three videos share a theme – things on the screen look indistinguishable from real life. Of course, a macaw or a couple of hamsters are probably not lab-quality tools to measure color deviation. They do look adorable, though.
Anyway, all three ads end with showing the phone, both front and back. There’s a triple camera on the back, which hasn’t been mentioned officially yet. Some leaks suggest that the main camera will have a 48 MP sensor (and we think that’s an OIS label below it), a 13 MP ultra wide camera and a helper module (depth, perhaps).
Vivo also showed off a number of accessories, including protective cases for the iQOO Neo5. The others are not specific to this phone, but highlight iQOO’s gaming nature – there’s a clip-on fan to cool the chipset and the second generation of charging cable that reroutes the cable to the side (so you can hold the phone in landscape orientation more comfortably).
Speaking of charging, the Neo5 will have a 4,400 mAh battery with 66W fast charging. 0-100% will take half an hour, 0-50% only 10 minutes. The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 870. Chances are that vivo will unveil more details before launching the phone on March 16 (Tuesday next week).
