HP ZCentral allows people to create from anywhere by accessing powerful workstations remotely. HP says that ZCentral is a “remote desktop application on steroids” and announced new capabilities for it today. People can now use Wacom tablets and displays through ZCentral Remote Boost, allowing them to use a new creative medium through the setup.

Support for Wacom tablets and displays means that creators don’t have to have their powerful processors and graphics cards on their endpoint device. Instead, they can use ZCentral Remote Boost to power their creative process while using a more mobile device. It’s also a good setup for people that are working remotely while powerful hardware is far away from their office.

HP started a preview for Wacom inking support in late 2020. Since then, it has worked with people on improving pressure sensitivity across different creative applications. With today’s announcement, ZCentral Remote Boost fully supports Wacom displays and tablets, including people working in 2-D and 3-D.

In addition to Wacom tablet and display support, HP announced that it’s adding new tools for managing and monitoring ZCentral Remote Boost connections. IT managers can now receive hardware alerts for their Z workstations within the admin console and monitor the health of their fleet of hardware.

The ability to control resources should help IT managers free up more hardware remotely. A new scheduling feature for ZCentral Connect will help allocate workstation power as well.

ZCentral Remote Boost is available on Windows, Linux, and macOS. A license is included with every HP Z PC, lik the newly announced ZBook 14, but you can also purchase a license for non-Z devices.
