AMD announced the Radeon PRO W6000 series workstation graphics today. The graphics are built to deliver high-end performance for demanding workloads, including “architectural design workloads, ultra-high resolution media projects, complex design and engineering simulations, and advanced image and video editing applications,” according to AMD. The most powerful of the new GPUs, the Radeon PRO W6800, is available now starting at $2,249.
The series also includes the Radeon PRO 6600 graphics card and the Radeon PRO W6600M GPU. All of the Radeon PRO W6000 series GPUs are built on AMD RDNA 2 architecture.
The new GPUs offer up to 46% faster rendering than previous-generation Radeon PRO graphics cards. The cards also feature AMD Infinity Cache up to 128MB, Smart Access Memory, and AMD Radeon PRO Viewport Boost. Overall, AMD states that the new graphics get up to 79% faster performance than the previous generation.
The Radeon PRO W6800 GPU is available today starting at $2,249. The Radeon PRO W6600 graphics card is expected in Q3 2021 with a starting price of $649. Radeon PRO W6600M graphics cards should be available in the HP Fury ZBook G8 mobile workstation starting in July 2021.
