Amazfit could be about to drop even more new smartwatches, as the GTS 2e and GTR 2e have been spotted at the FCC.
Huami has only just launched the Amazfit GTS 2 and GTR 2 and is rumored to be preparing the GTS 2 Mini on the way.
According to listings in an FCC database it seems likely they’ll follow the same square and round designs featured on the GTS 2 and GTR 2.
There’s no details on how the spec sheets will read for the duo, but there is the indication that they’ll be packing Wi-Fi, which is present on the current watches. The timing of their appearance here in these listings could suggest they are nearing launch.
The GTS 2 and GTR 2 only launched in October and November, so it’s somewhat of a surprise to see new skews. And we’re curious to find out what the “e” moniker stands for.
We’ve seen Huawei adopt it for its Huawei Watch GT 2e, which was a sportier version of its GT 2 smartwatch.
While the GTS 2 and GTR 2 are built for getting sweaty, the look is more of a classic wrist-watch design – so we could be treated to a new, sportier look.
On the other hand the GTS 2/GTR 2e may even be an indication some extra connectivity support.
What we do know is that Huami, who builds the Amazfit watches are not holding back with the launches.
We’ve seen plenty of them land this year and we do know it will be launching a Zepp Z smartwatch soon too as well. We’re also eagerly waiting to see if the Amazfit Bip U will replace the excellent Bip S in the West, for the sub $100 market.
Our wrist are ready and waiting to slap on another Amazfit. Watch this space.
